Josh GrispiA featherweight matchup between Josh “The Fluke” Grispi (14-2) and George Roop (11-7-1) appears to be slotted for the upcoming “The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale” event in June.

MMAMania.com posted the update on Sunday noting that a source confirmed the bout with them.

Grispi made his UFC debut at UFC 125 last month losing to Dustin Poirier by unanimous decision. The defeat ended a ten fight win streak that also saw him earn four straight wins in the WEC, plus a “Submission of the Night” bonus in his last WEC appearance. He’s earned wins over LC Davis at WEC 49, Jens Pulver at WEC 41, Micah Miller at WEC 35, and Mark Hominick at WEC 32.

Roop also enters the bout with a loss last month. He was soundly defeated by Hominick in January’s UFC: Fight for the Troops 2 show, losing in the first round by TKO. The defeat put him 1-1 in his last two and has seen a roller coaster ride for his career in his last eight. In that span, which included four bouts with the UFC, three with the WEC, and one with the RITC promotion, Roop has gone 3-4-1. His last win saw him knockout Chan Sung Jung (aka The Korean Zombie) at WEC 51, fight Leonard Garcia to a draw at WEC 47, and lose a unanimous decision to Eddie Wineland at WEC 46.

The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale will take place on June 4th at the Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. One bout already set for the event includes a lightweight bout between Clay Guida vs. Anthony Pettis. The show will also serve as to crown the winner of the thirteenth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” which is still currently being filmed.
