Lightweights highlight Supremacy undercard
Jolly-Sanguin set for battle at MFC 28
Press Release – The Maximum Fighting Championship has tabbed three preliminary bouts to kick off the action at MFC 28: Supremacy set for Friday, Feb. 25 at the River Cree Resort and Casino, just outside of Edmonton, Alberta.
In the featured prelim, lightweights Nate Jolly and Evan Sanguin will square-off with both fighters out to prove they are ready for a bigger role in the MFC.
A product of Johnson City, Tennessee, Jolly (10-2) makes his organizational debut having won seven of his last eight fights including a pair of first-round stoppages – one by knockout and one by submission via guillotine choke.
Sanguin (6-3) returns to the MFC banner under which he has fought five times and earned four victories including a knockout by slam against Alain Hernandez at MFC 20. The Red Deer, Alberta, native has scored three first-round finishes in previous MFC action.
In another lightweight encounter, popular home-town fighter Garrett Nybakken (2-1) will get plenty of support from his fan base when he takes on Vancouver, B.C.’s Dan Ring (1-0). Both of Nybakken’s wins have come via rear-naked choke including his victory over Jevon Marshall at Heat XC 5 which squared their entertaining series at one win each. Ring picked up a unanimous decision verdict in his last bout.
Opening up the evening will be a welterweight matchup pitting Paapa Inkumsah (3-2) against Dajan Kajic (1-0). Inkumsah, who grew up in Edmonton but now trains in Calgary, Alberta, will look to right his ship as his career started with three straight wins in Heat XC before going on a two-fight slide in the MFC. Kajic, who fights out of Vancouver, B.C., notched a first-round submission win in his pro debut.
