Former Cage Fury Fighting Championship (CFFC) welterweight champion Sean Brady is bringing his undefeated 10-0 pro record to the big show in 2019, per a recent announcement by CFFC.
Brady, 26, is expected to make his Octagon debut at UFC on ESPN 2 later this month in his hometown of Philadelphia, but nothing is official at this time.
The rising welterweight prospect captured the CFFC title with a submission win over Mike Jones back in 2017. Brady then defended his 170-pound throne this past February with a fourth-round knockout over dangerous striker Taj Abdul-Hakim. It was Brady’s first knockout finish since landing a spinning back fist on Chauncey Foxworth back in 2016.
Brady, who trains out of the Renzo Gracie team in Philadelphia alongside the likes for former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez, has a lot to offer the UFC’s already stacked 170-pound division. The young prospect has finished 50 percent of his professional fights and already holds a unanimous decision win over former Ultimate Fighter winner Colton Smith.
While Brady’s debut has yet to be finalized, UFC would be silly to keep him off of a card in his own backyard. After all, Brady has fought all but one of his 10 professional bouts in either Philadelphia or Atlantic City.
