In one of the funnest fights of the year, former welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson and former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis will collide in a welterweight main event later tonight (Sat., Mar. 23, 2019) at UFC on ESPN+ 6 live on ESPN+ from inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

As two of the best strikers on the UFC roster today, “Wonderboy” and “Showtime” have turned in some of the best finishes over the years. While Pettis has earned his own dominant stoppages at lightweight, Thompson has been doing it for longer at 170 pounds, including knockouts over Robert Whittaker, Johny Hendricks, and Jake Ellenberger.

Take a look above at all five of “Wonderboy’s” UFC stoppages. Thompson’s head kick knockout of Dan Stittgen in his Octagon debut is especially impressive.

If Thompson is able to add “Showtime” to this list later this evening in Nashville he will regain steam in the stacked welterweight division. And who knows, maybe he’ll even get his matchup with “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler.

MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire UFC Fight Night 148 fight card, starting with the ESPN+ “Prelims” undercard bouts at 5 p.m. ET, followed by the ESPN+ main card start time at 8 p.m. ET.
