Bantamweight prospect Khalid Taha ruined the Octagon debut of Boston Salmon earlier tonight (Sat., April 13, 2019) at UFC 236 from inside State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, when he finished the “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series” standout via TKO just 25 seconds into the very first round.

Evident by the time of stoppage, this bantamweight affair didn’t last long at all. Salmon hadn’t fought in nearly two years so he was understandably going to take his time out of the gate. Unfortunately for the Hawaiian, Taha was ready to fire away and landed a big left hook that spun Salmon around and sent him falling to the canvas. Salmon was clearly hurt and Taha jumped on top for a few insurance shots before the referee stoppage.

With this performance, Taha gets back into the bantamweight win column after dropping a decision to Nad Narimani at UFC Fight Night 134 last year. Salmon was considered one of the most highly-touted prospects at 135 pounds entering this fight so this win should do wonders for Taha’s divisional stock moving forward. Depending on how the rest of tonight’s fight go there’s a good chance this TKO lands the German fighter an extra $50,000.
