Reigning WBC and WBA middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KOs) will try to win his third major middleweight title later tonight (Sat., May 4, 2019) live on DAZN from inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he meets IBF middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs (35-2, 29 KOs) in one of boxing’s best matchups of 2019.
This will be Canelo’s second appearance under the DAZN banner after signing a monster 11-fight contract with the streaming service late last year. Per that contract, Alvarez is scheduled to bank a staggering $35 million for his clash with “Miracle Man” later this evening in Las Vegas.
As for Jacobs, who claimed the IBF middleweight title this past October with a win over the previously undefeated Serhiy Derevianchenko, he stands to earn $2.5 million for his main event bid, per official contract purses obtained by ESPN’s Dan Rafael. That is nearly $1 million more than what “Miracle Man” earned for his 2017 clash with Gennady Golovkin. In total, Jacobs is guaranteed over $10 million through his current contract with DAZN.
