Jordan Burroughs beat Ben Askren by technical fall.
Prior to their match, Jordan Burroughs said that facing one of the UFC’s best wrestlers in Ben Askren is a good opportunity to remind MMA fans that there are levels in wrestling. The four-time world champion did just that at Beat the Street’s “Grapple at the Garden,” shutting out the bigger Askren 11-0, to win by technical fall in the second period.
He’s a GOAT for a reason.

Askren is a very accomplished wrestler in his own right, but the result isn’t really surprising. The UFC star switched to MMA soon after his stint in the 2008 Olympics, while Burroughs pushed on and is arguably on his way to being the greatest American wrestler of all time.
As for a possible role reversal, Burroughs also recently stated that he wants to eventually compete in a mixed martial arts bout once, saying he wants to “throw my hands and see what I’m made of.”
