The world-class submission game of jiu-jitsu wizard Garry Tonon was on full display yet again earlier today (Fri., May 17, 2019) at ONE Championship 96: ‘Enter The Dragon’ from Kallang, Singapore, when he quickly finished Japanese veteran Yoshiki Nakahara via 55-second submission (heel hook).
Tonon wasted little time grabbing a single leg as he tried to whip Nakahara to the canvas. During the transition to the ground, Tonon was able to quickly trap Nakahara’s heel and began his legendary squeeze. After a few moments of defending, Nakahara realized there was no escape and reluctantly tapped as pain streamed across his face.

With this win, Tonon not only extends his unbeaten record to 5-0 but he locks down his third career finish by way of submission. The 27-year-old New Jersey native has looked sensational since crossing over to MMA early last year and is really showing why he’s one of the most respect BJJ practitioners in the world today. “Lion Killer” has even thrown aside his submission skills to earn two equally-impressive TKO finishes along the way.
It will be exciting to see how long Tonon can keep this up and how quickly he ascends the ONE Championship ladder with all of the hype he seems to building.
