It’s official, former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (5-2) will meet Junior dos Santos (12-1) in June in the headlining bout for UFC 131 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship made the announcement on Thursday during the latest episode of “The Ultimate Insider” at UFC.com.
Both heavyweights will be featured as opposing coaches on the upcoming thirteenth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series which airs on March 30 on Spike TV.
Lesnar is coming off a title loss to current champ Cain Velasquez back in October at UFC 131, ending a four fight win streak for the Minnesota based fighter.
Dos Santos earned a seventh straight win after defeating Roy “Big Country” Nelson back at UFC 117 in a title eliminator bout. So far “Cigano” is undefeated in six appearances in the octagon.
UFC 131 will take place on June 11 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in the promotions second visit to that city.
