An injury which forced MFC lightweight “Ragin” Kajan Johnson out of last months MFC 28: Supremacy event will also keep him from welcoming former UFC fighter Marcus “Irish Hand Grenade” Davis (17-8) to the Maximum Fighting Championship in April.
Johnson had suffered a separated shoulder and was replaced by Curtis “The Demon” Demarce (10-8) at the MFC 28 event.
According to MMAWeekly.com, Demarce is set to replace Johnson once again as he’ll meet Davis on April 8 at MFC 29: Conquer in Windsor, Ontario at The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor.
Davis is 1-4 in his last five bouts and enters the fight against Demarce having lost two straight, including his release from the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The “Irish Hand Grenade” suffered a third round knockout loss to Jeremy Stephens at UFC 125, as well as a technical submission loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 118. His last victory was a TKO victory over Jonathan Goulet at UFC 113 in Montreal last May.
Demarce had a seven fight win streak stopped by Richie “Hellboy” Whitson at last months MFC 28 show. The two battled it out in one of the best fights of the events HDNet broadcast, with Whitson earning a split decision victory. The fighter has appeared on a number of local Canadian events including previous MFC shows.
