Middleweights Uriah Hall and Antonio Carlos Junior will reportedly meet in Canada.
A battle of The Ultimate Fighter veterans is reportedly headed to Canada in September. Per Combate, TUF 17 runner-up, Uriah Hall, is scheduled to take on TUF Brazil 3 heavyweight champion, Antonio Carlos Junior, at UFC Vancouver.
Coming off of a knockout win over Bevon Lewis in his last outing, in December 2018, Uriah Hall (14-9) will look to begin 2019 putting together a new winning streak. Prior to his last fight, the Jamaican suffered a TKO loss to rising prospect Paulo Costa in July 2018. The 34-year-old hasn’t won two bouts in a row since 2015, when he finished Gegard Mousasi and Oluwale Bamgbose via TKO.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt Antonio Carlos Junior (10-3-1 NC) will look to recover from his first loss in three years when he meets Hall. In May, the 29-year-old was bested via unanimous decision by Ian Heinisch, in a loss that snapped the Brazilian’s five-fight winning streak, with four submissions, over the likes of Leonardo Guimareas, Marvin Vettori, Eric Spicely, Jack Marshman and Tim Boetsch. Before the loss, ‘Shoeface’s’ previous defeat happened in March 2016, when he lost to Dan Kelly by TKO.
So far, the UFC has not announced a main event for its return to Vancouver, which is set for September 14th on ESPN+.
