The Ultimate Fighting Championship made another fight official for it’s upcoming UFC 131 event in Vancouver, Canada later this summer.
Season eleven winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” Court McGee (13-1) will step into the octagon to meet Canadian Jesse “Water” Bongfeldt (21-7-1) at the June event in a match that will likely take place on the preliminary card.
McGee has won seven straight bouts including two appearances with the UFC. He submitted Ryan Jensen last October in the third round of their UFC 121 match. In June, after fans watched McGee progress through the Spike TV reality series as part of Team Liddell, McGee faced fellow “TUF” housemate Kris McCray at the “TUF Finale.” He would earn a second round submission to win “The Ultimate Fighter” contract as well as the “Submission of the Night” bonus for the victory.
Bongfeldt made his UFC debut in his last fight, battling Rafael Natal to a draw at the Montreal event as part of UFC 124. That ended the Canadian’s seven fight win streak who fought for various local promotions. Over his career, the fighter has earned 12 submission victories and 9 (T)KO wins.
UFC 131 will take place on June 11 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Headlining the event will be a heavyweight matchup between Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos.
