Manny Pacquiao and Keith Thurman squared off for a final time earlier today (Fri., July 19, 2019) in advance to their welterweight title fight tomorrow night live on FOX PPV from inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao and Thurman first had to step on the scale to make their WBA title fight official (video weigh in results HERE), but then the two boxing stars came together face-to-face for an intense staredown. Check it out above courtesy of FOX Sports.
Pacquiao, who turns 41 this December, is enjoying a resurgence in his career. The world-renowned boxing legend is coming off back-to-back wins over veterans Lucas Matthysse and Adrien Broner after dropping a shocking decision to Australian boxer Jeff Horn back in 2017. “Pac-Man” is hoping to parlay his recent success into a title win over the undefeated Thurman, who is arguably the hardest puncher in the division.
Thurman, 30, has racked off huge wins inside of the boxing ring throughout his professional career, including recent victories over Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter. However, “One Time” has never tested his striking skills against a legend of the sport like Pacquiao so it will be interesting to see if he can control the action tomorrow night.
Only time will tell if this welterweight matchup lives up to the hype, but based on today’s staredown fight fans should be extremely excited.
