UFC heavyweight Sean “Big Sexy” McCorkle (10-1) is set to meet Christian Morecraft Saturday night in Seattle, Washington on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis.
The highly noted internet trash talker has been battling alone on the web leading up to tomorrows fight, as Morecraft has been relatively quiet on the web.
For McCorkle, the talk that goes on before the fight is just as important as the fight itself, and if he could somehow manage the weight cut, he’d love a chance to battle former UFC middleweight contender Chael Sonnen.
Speaking to UFC.com McCorkle noted that he might actually lose his ‘trash-talking’ crown to Sonnen if the two actually sparred over the web.
“I think it’s as much part of your job to sell a fight or to entertain people,” he said. “Obviously Chael Sonnen and I are a hundred pounds apart, but to have a trash talking battle with a guy like that would be a dream of mine. Some people dream of fighting Georges St-Pierre or Anderson Silva. I dream of having a trash talking battle with someone like Chael Sonnen, who I would actually be in danger with of losing my trash talking title.”
Say it ain’t so, McCorkle. How about a catch weight fight?
“Not without a severe drug addiction or illness,” he deadpans. “I asked my conditioning guy once I hit 265 if there was any chance I could ever make 205. He said you couldn’t make 245 without some form of illness.”
McCorkle enters the fight with Morecraft on a loss, after suffering his first career loss to Stefan Struve at UFC 124 last December. He is 1-1 in the UFC, winning his debut at UFC 119 by submitting Mark Hunt in the first round.
