New UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic wishes he did something different than dance after his fourth-round knockout of Daniel Cormier on Saturday night.
Regarding his celebration that followed his win over Daniel Cormier at UFC 241, Stipe Miocic wishes he could have a do-over.
After knocking out Cormier on Saturday in Anaheim to become the new heavyweight champion, Miocic performed a little dance that was inspired by the 2003 comedy Old School. Miocic immediately regretted it.
“I just had no idea what I was doing,” Miocic said at the UFC 241 post-fight press conference. “I don’t know why I did it. I feel really dumb that I did it. Then I did like the ‘suck it’ (crotch chop). I don’t know why. I feel like I didn’t know what to do with my hands or my feet. I don’t know. I’m an idiot, just dumb.”

Miocic was down on the scorecards heading into the fourth round, but made some adjustments that ultimately earned him a TKO win late into the fourth round. It was Miocic’s first fight since losing the belt to Cormier last summer. “DC” had his three-fight winning streak snapped.
Miocic said adrenaline takes over after a big win like that, so often fighters do things in the heat of the moment that they wouldn’t normally do.
But it also sounds like you could catch Miocic doing that same dance — or something similar — more than you might think.
“I’m that guy at a party that does dumb stuff, like, ‘Why would he do that?’” Miocic said. “It’s fun.”
