Hawaiian fighter Louis Smolka made good on his “Prelims” matchup with Ryan MacDonald earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 14, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 158 live on ESPN+ from inside Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, when “Da Last Samurai” ended the young bantamweight via first-round TKO (punches).
Smolka came out firing from the opening bell as he landed countless hooks to the head and body. MacDonald hung in tough and countered in spots. However, Smolka responded with even more pressure and landed a beautiful left hand late into the first that dropped “Main Event.” Smolka poured on heavy combinations before landing a flush right hand that sent MacDonald down for good.

With this performance, Smolka gets back into the bantamweight win column after getting submitted by Matt Schnell back in March. The former flyweight standout has looked much better since making the jump up to 135 pounds and can climb the divisional ladder fairly quickly if he can finish more young and hungry prospects like he did tonight.
