Former UFC champion Conor McGregor showed up in an expensive suit earlier tonight (Fri., Sept. 27, 2019) at Bellator MMA’s event in Dublin, Ireland, to show support for some of his Straight Blast Gym (SBG) teammates, including headliner James Gallagher.
The last time “Notorious” showed up to a Bellator event he ended up climbing the cage in effort to celebrate with a teammate. While tonight’s event is not yet over, McGregor has not scaled any cages or bumped into any Bellator officials or referees.
Instead, “Notorious” seems eager to watch some fights in his home city of Dublin. Remember, the 31-year-old superstar hasn’t competed inside of the cage since losing to UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov last October. McGregor has to be itching for some combat action and what better place to watch fights than his own backyard.

McGregor, who was in talks for a Justin Gaethje fight earlier this year prior to a nasty hand injury, still plans on returning to the Octagon in 2019. The brash Irishman obviously wants to land a rematch with Khabib, but will likely have to settle for Gaethje, Frankie Edgar, or the winner of Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal.
Whatever fight McGegor ends up coming back to it’s nice to see him out and about this weekend in Dublin. After all, “Notorious” has been in the Irish doghouse for the past month.
