Two of the very best boxers in the world today will square off later tonight (Sat., Sept. 28, 2019) live on FOX Sports PPV from inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., as reigning IBF welterweight champion and pound-for-pound standout Errol Spence Jr. (25-0, 21 KOs) takes on WBC welterweight champion Shawn Porter (30-2-1, 17 KOs) in a title unification bout.

This is a huge bout for both fighters, but especially Spence Jr. as he tries to solidify himself as the best P4P fighter in the world today. The 29-year-old New Yorker is certainly on his way having handed WBC and IBF lightweight champion Mikey Garcia his first professional loss back in March. That was Spence Jr.’s third-straight title defense after winning the belt off Kell Brook back in 2017. The other two defenses came against Mexican contender Carlos Ocampo in June 2018 and veteran fighter Lamont Peterson earlier that same year.

While Spence Jr. is the favorite in tonight’s main event clash on FOX Sports PPV, Porter is no pushover. The 31-year-old veteran is currently riding a four-fight win streak inside of the ring with key victories over Yordenis Ugas, Danny Garcia, and Andre Berto. Porter did hit a snag back in 2016 with a decision loss to Keith Thurman, but “Showtime” has since rebounded and looks to add another belt to his welterweight collection tonight in L.A.
