The MMA world will be watching closely later tonight (Sat., Oct. 5, 2019) at UFC 243 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. as undefeated middleweight sensation Israel Adesanya attempts to unify his interim strap with current 185-pound champion Robert Whittaker in the main event.

Given the meteoric rise of “Last Stylebender,” the MMA community is curious to see if the elite striker has the chops to knock off a champion who has never lost in the weight class. It will be interesting to say the least, especially since Whittaker hasn’t stepped foot inside of the Octagon since defeating Yoel Romero in June of last year.

Former UFC two-division champion, Conor McGregor, will be one of many tuning in to see if Adesanya gets the job done in Melbourne. In fact, “Notorious” offered the following message to “Last Stylebender” in preparation for his first true title fight (via Instagram):

“Wow! What an atmosphere down in Australia for this weekends fight!” wrote McGregor. “I am so excited for this event tomorrow, I would love to be there! I can’t wait to visit Australia one day Best of luck to UFC champion and @paradigmsm fighter, Israel the @Stylebender Adesanya, fighting for the UFC’s coveted Middleweight title tomorrow night! This is your time my brother! Straight down the pipe and he goes down.My Aussie brother @tim_simpson2 doing great work down there also. I cannot wait to watch the event! Good luck Israel! Good luck men!”

While McGregor and Adesanya are both members of the Paradigm Sports Management team, it’s still nice to see the Irishman taking the time out of his busy schedule to give one of the fastest rising fighters in the sport today a few words of wisdom.

And who knows, maybe McGregor’s “straight down the pipe and he goes down” prediction will play out in favor of Adesanya.
