The action returns to the Octagon tomorrow night (Sat., Oct. 12, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 161 live on ESPN+ from inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, as former UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk tries to make a successful return to 115 pounds when she takes on streaking veteran striker Michelle “Karate Hottie” Waterson.
In addition to Jedrzejczyk’s main event clash with Waterson, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu prodigy Kron Gracie will make his second trip to the Octagon in a co-headliner with featherweight mainstay Cub Swanson, former lightweight contender James Vick will make his 170-pound debut opposite Niko Price, women’s strawweight sensation Mackenzie Dern will look to improve to 8-0 with a win over Brazilian finisher Amanda Ribas, and “Violent Bob Ross” Luis Pena will aim to win his third straight in a clash with lightweight brawler Matt Frevola.
In advance to the madness, the promotion has released the best finishes from some of UFC Tampa’s finest competitors. Whether it’s Jedrzejczyk’s masterful TKO win over Jessica Penne, Swanson’s beautiful finish over veteran fighter Ross Pearson, Dern’s 2017 submission win over Kaline Medeiros under the Invicta FC banner, or Waterson’s memorable submission stoppage over Paige VanZant at UFC on FOX 22, there have been plenty of finishes to go around from this UFC Tampa lineup.
Hopefully all of these Octagon warriors show up to perform tomorrow night on ESPN+ and add as many finishes to this highlight reel as humanly possible.
