James Vick came up short in his UFC welterweight debut last night (Sat., Oct. 12, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 161 live on ESPN+ from inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, when 170-pound finisher Niko Price landed one of the most vicious upkicks of all time to end “Texecutioner” via first-round knockout.
Vick looked comfortable in his move up from lightweight as he was able to stomach a few punches early in order to land his own offense. He would end up working into top position where he started to score heavy ground-and-pound. Vick postured up to gain a better angle and ended up eating the heel of Price as he came down. Price battered Vick with a flurry of punches off his back but the damage was already done.

With this performance, Price gets back into the welterweight win column after getting finished by Geoff Neal back in July. The man known as “Hyrbrid” has been quietly becoming one of the best finishers in the division — evident by his 100 percent finishing rate — but this upkick stoppage over Vick is simply in a class of its own.
What say you, Maniacs? Is this one of the best knockouts in recent years?
