Bellator 40Tonight, Saturday, April 9, Bellator Fighting Championships presents it’s latest event from the First Council Casino in Newark, Oklahoma. The main card for Bellator 40 will air live on MTV2 beginning at 9PM EST (6PM PST).

Bellator 40 is headlined by a non-title “Super Fight” between welterweight champ Ben “Funky” Askren versus MMA veteran, and Bellator newcomer, Nick “The Goat” Thompson.

While two season four tournament semifinalist matches take place in the welterweight and lightweight divisions.

Welterweight semifinalists Jay “The Thoroughbred” Hieron meets Brent Weedman to see which man will advance to the finals to meet Rick Hawn, who won last weekend.

Lightweight fighters Lloyd “Cupcake” Woodard” takes on Michael Chandler in their semifinal matchup, with the winner moving on to meet Patricky “Pitbull” Freire in the finals. “Pitbull” also won last weekend to move into the lightweight tournament finals.
