One of the biggest fights of the year goes down later today (Sat., Dec. 7, 2019) live on DAZN from inside Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, as reigning WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. (33-1, 22 KO) puts his newly-claimed titles on the line against former heavyweight king Anthony Joshua (22-1, 21 KO).
The highly anticipated main event is a reboot from an initial encounter between Joshua and Ruiz back in June in New York City. Despite his massive underdog status, Ruiz was able to shock the boxing world and take out Joshua via seventh-round TKO. It was one of the biggest upsets in boxing in a very long time.
Just six months later and fight fans are about to witness the ultra-important rematch. Either Ruiz catches lightning in a bottle twice and doubles down on his dominance over Joshua or Joshua is able to exact revenge on “Destroyer” and reclaim the momentum he lost in the first fight. The winner is also likely to line themselves up for massive main event bouts with the likes of Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder in 2020.
