Bryce Mitchell gave fight fans something to remember earlier tonight (Sat., Dec. 7, 2019) at UFC on ESPN 7 live on ESPN from inside Capital One Arena in Washington D.C., after he finished featherweight counterpart Matt Sayles with a rare twister submission in the very first round.
Mitchell struck first when he scored an easy takedown in the center of the cage after Sayles launched an ill-advised kick down the middle. From there, “Thug Nasty” worked his way into position and nearly locked up an arm-triangle choke. Mitchell then transitioned to Sayles’ back and set him up for a rare twister attempt. Sayles defended the first squeeze before Mitchell tightened his grip and forced the tap.

With this performance, Mitchell not only locks down one of the most sought after submission finishes in all of MMA but he scores his third-straight win in as many UFC appearances. The 25-year-old is now 12-0 in his professional career and should be considered one of the most promising young prospects in UFC today.
