Chan Sung Jung, better known as “Korean Zombie,” ran former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar out of the building earlier this morning (Sat., Dec. 21, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 165 live on ESPN+ from inside Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea, when the featherweight contender scored a dominant fist-round TKO (punches) finish.
It didn’t take long for Jung to land one of his patented power punches as a left hook connected on Edgar’s chin and sent “The Answer” stumbling to the canvas. “Korean Zombie” quickly moved in, jumped on top of Edgar, and blasted the former UFC champion with heavy ground-and-pound that would have ended almost any other fighter in the division.
Edgar, as tough as he is, survived for a few minutes before returning to his feet. That’s when “Korean Zombie” launched a perfectly-timed and beautifully-placed combination that peppered Edgar’s head and forced him back to the ground. A few follow-up shots was all Jung needed to secure the finish.

With this performance, “Korean Zombie” captures his second knockout win of 2019 after taking out Renato Moicano in 58 seconds back in June. If not for a legendary, last-second knockout finish by Yair Rodriguez last year Jung would have four-straight dominant victories to his name since returning from mandatory military service back in 2017.
After his UFC Busan win, “Korean Zombie” called out newly-crowned UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski to a 2020 showdown.
