The action delivered as advertised last night (Sat., Jan. 18, 2020) at UFC 246 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when Conor McGregor pulled another rabbit out of his hat to finish Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone just 40 seconds into their welterweight headliner, proving that a 15-month layoff is no big deal.
In addition to McGregor’s return finish, Aleksei Oleinik twisted and turned his way for a slick submission win over heavyweight counterpart Maurice Greene, bantamweight finisher Brian Kelleher got back into the win column with a strong guillotine stoppage over touted newcomer Ode Osbourne, lightweight contender Carlos Diego Ferreira nabbed his sixth-straight win with a submission over former UFC champion Anthony Pettis, lightweight striker Drew Dober scored a filthy knockout finish over German youngster Nasrat Haqparast, and women’s flyweight veteran Roxanne Modafferi pulled off a huge upset over the previously undefeated Maycee Barber.
