Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir (14-5) is set to meet “TUF 10″ winner Roy “Big Country” Nelson at the end of this month in Las Vegas as part of the main card for UFC 130. Mir was in Toronto this past weekend for the UFC Fan Expo, during an interview at one of the many fan activities around the city, the former champ offered his thoughts on Nelson as an opponent and whether “Big Country” should move down a division.

“I see Roy (Nelson) as an extremely tough guy, his basics are very sound. So it will be a technical fight on my part to make sure I keep him off balance.”

“I think he could be very effective at that weight class. I think there are bigger guys with bigger frames at 205 so, but it’s tough to argue with success, he’s only loss in the UFC is to Dos Santos who is a top contender. He only has a decision loss, so it’s hard to convince someone otherwise.”
