Undefeated heavyweight kings Deontay Wilder (42-0-1, 41 KO) and Tyson Fury (29-0-1, 20 KOs) will collide in a highly-anticipated title rematch tomorrow night (Sat., Feb. 22, 2020) live on ESPN+ PPV from inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and both boxing stars are set to bank big money for their efforts.
According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), both Wilder and Fury are expected to earn $5 million purses for their main event bid on ESPN+ PPV. In addition, “Bronze Bomber” and “Gypsy King” are being guaranteed a grand total of $25 million each when it’s all said and done. The heavyweight counterparts will also be bringing in a percentage of the PPV profits.
While this isn’t close to the $60 million Anthony Joshua received for his heavyweight rematch with Andy Ruiz this past December, $25 million is nothing to scoff at. This is $5 million more guaranteed than what Wilder got for his reboot with Luis Ortiz back in November and it’s exceedingly more than what Fury earned for his most recent heavyweight fight opposite Otto Wallin just five months ago.
Given the magnitude of their rematch and the mass following that each fighter brings to the ring, Wilder and Fury deserve every penny they receive for this weekend’s title fight. At the end of the day, they are giving fight fans a heavyweight rivalry unseen in the sport for quite some time.
Here are the complete ‘Wilder vs. Fury 2’ main card salaries:
Deontay Wilder $5M (Guaranteed $25M plus PPV percentage)
vs. Tyson Fury $5M (Guaranteed $25M plus PPV percentage)Charles Martin $250K
vs. Gerald Washington $275KEmanuel Navarrete $300K
vs. Jeo Santisima $25K
