After a disappointing showing Saturday night against Rory MacDonald at UFC 129, the Stockton, California fighter, Nate Diaz (13-7) looks to head back to the UFC’s 155 lbs division.

Diaz lost a unanimous decision to MacDonald in their Spike TV televised bout, it was his second straight decision loss after losing to Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 125 last New Years Day. So far, in his return to the 170 lb division, Diaz had put together a 2-2 record in the stretch.

News of the move comes from Diaz’s coach, Cesar Gracie, who told MMAMania.com about moving weight divisions.

“Nate Diaz didn’t look too good. I’m gonna be the first one to say it. He looked lethargic out there and he’s been asking me to go back to 155 for some time now. Frankie Edgar is the champion over there and he’s the student of a good friend of mine. Nathan was one of the contenders at 155 so we brought him up to 170 but it looks like we’ll probably bring him back down to 155 where he belongs.”
