UFC Fight Night 169 will go down tomorrow night (Sat., Feb. 29, 2020) live on ESPN+ from inside Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, with perennial contender Joseph Benavidez getting another flyweight title shot in a main event scrap with Deiveson Figueiredo, who missed weight and will not be eligible to win the vacant belt.

Despite the main event drama, Benavidez is still in line to win his first UFC championship with a win over the red-hot Figueiredo. This will be Benavidez’s third shot at 125-pound gold after coming up short twice against Demetrious Johnson from 2012-2013. That was a very long time ago and after racking off a 9-1 record since his last battle with “Mighty Mouse” it’s safe to Benavidez is ready to finally cash in when it matters most.

In advance to UFC Norfolk’s headliner, the promotion has been kind enough to release some of the best finishes in the career of Benavidez. Whether it’s his brutal body shot to veteran Darren Uyenoyama, his bloody submission win over Miguel Torres in WEC competition, or his recent TKO destruction of flyweight contender Jussier Formiga, Benavidez sports some of the best finishes at the flyweight and bantamweight levels.

We’ll find out one way or another if the 35-year-old veteran can muscle his way past the very dangerous Figueiredo and breathe new life into a rather stagnant UFC flyweight division.
