Charles Oliveira secured his seventh-straight Octagon finish earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 14, 2020) at UFC Fight Night 170 live on ESPN+ from inside Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil, when he put a stop to lightweight counterpart Kevin Lee via third-round submission (guillotine choke).
Both lightweights landed early on the feet before Lee was able to secure mount during a scramble to the ground. Oliviera fought well off his back as he attempted multiple heel hooks that checked “Motown Phenom.” Lee would start out strong in the second as well with good combinations on the feet before securing back-to-back takedowns. Oliveira once again defended nicely to limit damage.
In the third, Lee came out firing punches as his confidence grew. That may have been a mistake as he dipped his head inside and left it open for a guillotine choke. Oliveira wasted little time and locked it up, dragging “Motown Phenom” to the canvas. Lee fought the choke for a few seconds before tapping.

With this performance, Oliveira captures the biggest win of his professional MMA career and now pushes his current win streak to an impressive seven in a row. The 30-year-old veteran is now undefeated in his home country of Brazil (6-0 in UFC competition) and readies himself for a massive matchup his next time out.
By the way, “do Bronx” also extended his UFC record for most submission finishes (14).
