Charlie Brenneman“The Ultimate Fighter” season 7 alumni Matt Riddle has been forced out of his next Octagon appearance at UFC on Versus 4 next month for undisclosed reasons.

Riddle had been set to face Canadian TJ Grant (16-5) at the event, but will now be replaced by Charlie “The Spaniard” Brenneman (12-2) in the welterweight tilt.

News of the change was first reported by MMADieHards.com on Friday morning, and was verified by UFC officials via Twitter (@UFC) “One Pennsylvanian injured, another in vs Grant for Pittsburgh show – details soon at ufc.com”.

UFC on Versus 4 (aka UFC Live: Marquardt vs. Johnson) is scheduled to take place on June 26 at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The main card will air live on the Versus network in the U.S., and Canada will see the event air live on Rogers Sportsnet.

Brenneman is 2-1 in the UFC since joining the promotion just over a year ago. His last Octagon appearance was back in January at the UFC: Fight for the Troops 2 event, winning a unanimous decision over Amilcar Alves at the Texas event. Previous to that bout, he was stopped by Johny Hendricks at UFC 117 by second round TKO, and earned a decision victory over Jason High in his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 21.

Despite the change in opponents, Grant still has a month-and-a-half to prepare for a new opponent, and enters the fight on a loss. The Canadian has traded wins for losses over his six UFC fight career putting together a 3-3 record. His last fight was a decision loss to Ricardo Almeida at UFC 124 last December, and had earned a decision win against Julio Paulino at UFC 119 in September.
