With considerable business and travel restrictions in place to combat the spread of COVID-19, MMA fighters have had to adapt their training to fit the the changing times.

Conor McGregor, who is coming off a 40-second TKO finish over Donald Cerrone this past January and looking to crash the party in 2020, has had to keep busy during his time in self quarantine. Not only has McGregor reached out to his fellow Irish people to help limit the effects of the rapidly-growing coronavirus, but “Notorious” has done his best to stay in shape from the comfort of his own basement.

While McGregor has enough money to never fight again that hasn’t stopped the former UFC champion from fine tuning his skills and maintaining a level of fitness that will prepare him for a planned return to the Octagon later this year. McGregor has also been nice enough to share his training footage via social media.

In his latest installment, “Notorious” reveals a unique pull-up trick that he claims will help improve MMA defense. McGregor is one of the hardest fighters to hit when he isn’t willingly walking forward so his training video should be watched closely.

McGregor, 31, has been on the road to redemption over the past 16 months after getting choked out by Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018 and running into multiple issues outside of the cage. The former UFC two-division champion has been ridiculed for his lack of dedication leading into his grudge match with Khabib and “Notorious” has been trying to regain momentum ever since.

Keeping in shape at home during the coronavirus outbreak doesn’t mean McGregor will be able to upset Khabib in a future rematch, but it’s certainly a good start.
