It all goes down later tonight (Sat., May 9, 2020) at UFC 249 live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla., as Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje battle it out for interim lightweight title rights in the promotion’s awaited return from COVID-19 postponement.
In addition to the lightweight headliner, undisputed UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo will put his title on the line for the very first time against former division kingpin Dominick Cruz. It will be Cruz’s first time stepping inside of the Octagon since a 2016 loss to Cody Garbrandt.
Adding to the main card mix will be a heavyweight banger between knockout artists Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik, a featherweight clash between perennial contender Jeremy Stephens and rising star Calvin Kattar, and another heavyweight bout pitting former NFL star Greg Hardy against undefeated power puncher Yorgan de Castro. Not to mention the “Prelims” undercard that features the likes of Donald Cerrone, Anthony Pettis, Michelle Waterson, and Fabricio Werdum.
