Vicente Luque gave fight fans their first finish earlier tonight (Sat., May 9, 2020) at UFC 249 live on ESPN+ from inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla., when he brutally stopped welterweight counterpart Niko Price via third-round TKO (doctor’s stoppage).
These two men fought back in 2017 with Luque winning via second-round submission and they wasted no time getting back to work tonight. Luque and Price exchanged heavy combinations from all angles, brutal leg kicks from distance, and elbows inside when the action tied up.
In the third round, it was Luque who was able to throw the final punch when he connected with a massive left hook. Price went down and Luque jumped on top for the finish. It came a few moments later after the doctors stepped in to review Price’s damaged eye and called the fight.
