Kevin Holland scored a massive finish earlier tonight (Sat., May 16, 2020) at UFC on ESPN 8 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla., when he stopped middleweight counterpart Anthony Hernandez via first-round TKO (knee to the body and punches).
While Hernandez is the one who typically comes out firing it was Holland who landed a beautiful right elbow during an inside clinch in the opening moments of Round 1. Hernandez recovered briefly before Holland launched a perfectly-placed knee to the chest. “Fluffy” fell to the canvas, Holland followed up with vicious ground-and-pound, and eventually forced the referee’s hand.

With this performance, Holland locks down the biggest win of his UFC career and his first knockout win in over two years. “Trailblazer” remains a work in progress in the UFC’s jam-packed middleweight division, but finishes like this one make you wonder what he can do if he puts it all together. Remember, Holland made his UFC debut against Thiago Santos less than two years ago and went all three rounds with “Marreta.”
