Herbert Burns set things off earlier tonight (Sat., June 6, 2020) at UFC 250 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the featherweight prospect made quick work of veteran Evan Dunham via first-round submission (rear-naked choke).
Despite a two-year absence and a drop in weight, Dunham looked sharp in the early going and landed a few strong punches. That was until Burns wrapped him up, dragged him to the canvas, and quickly locked his hooks in. Dunham tried to defend but Burns is super high-level on the ground and quickly sunk in a tight rear-naked choke. Dunham had nothing left to do but tap.

With this performance, Burns earns his second-straight Octagon win after taking out Nate Landwehr in his debut back in January. The brother of red-hot welterweight contender Gilbert Burns, Herbert has shown a plethora of skill since joining the 145-pound pack. A victory over Dunham should go a long way in landing Burns a shot at the top 15 his next time out.
