Ed Herman’s offer is significantly lower than his show money.
Several bouts have been scrapped in that somewhat snake-bit UFC Vegas 5 event, and among the talking points have been the money that the fighters will receive. According to Dana White himself, “they got paid some money, but didn’t get their show money.”
Concrete figures are starting to coming in, specifically for Ed Herman, who weighed in for his bout that got scrapped when his opponent Gerald Meerschaert tested positive for COVID-19. According to Seven Marrocco of MMA Fighting, Herman has been offered $10,000, which would be significantly lower than his contracted “show” money.

As White alluded to, the amounts paid would simply be a holdover until they can rebook these fighters as soon as possible for an upcoming card.
Some fighters indeed get to compete very soon from their original bouts, with the UFC President stating how “I think (Kevin) Holland’s gonna fight next week.” Others though — like Markus Perez — have instead been rebooked months later, against a different opponent. On those cases, it would constitute to another full fight camp, and a whole different set of expenses.
Previously, when bouts get canceled, those that still weigh in successfully were typically compensated with their full “show” money. It seems like that practice would really just be a thing of the past now.
