Dana White reacted to Oscar De La Hoya’s comeback plans.

After years as a successful promoter, Oscar De La Hoya shockingly announced plans to return from retirement and step back into the ring. The now 47-year-old says he won’t be doing an exhibition like Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., but an actual professional fight against a “top” fighter.

“Any top guy, any top guy out there,” said De La Hoya. “All these fighters are not of the level that was 15, 20 years [ago]”

Dana White has not always had a pleasant relationship with his boxing counterpart, and the UFC President decided to mock De La Hoya’s comeback plans, while addressing the media.

“Cocaine isn’t cheap,” White said on Saturday’s UFC post-fight press conference. “It’s expensive. You’ve got to make money.”

De La Hoya, who has been out of competition for 12 years, has been plying his trade as one of the top boxing promoters, and has publicly clashed with White multiple times in the past. The boxing superstar turned promoter battled alcohol and substance addiction in the years after his retirement.
