Rafael dos Anjos may be inching closer to a long-awaited lightweight showdown with Conor McGregor.
Dos Anjos, who defeated Paul Felder last night at UFC Vegas 14 in his first lightweight fight since 2016 (highlights HERE), called out McGregor during his post-fight interview (shown below). RDA believes that he and “Notorious” should fight for the vacant lightweight title (presuming Khabib Nurmagomedov actually retires) since they previously held the undisputed 155-pound title.

“If Khabib is really retired, it will leave the division wide open… I think me and Conor is the fight to make,” said dos Anjos.
McGregor, who is expected to fight Dustin Poirier early next year, took to social media following UFC Vegas 14 to congratulate dos Anjos on his victory over Felder, while also accepting RDA’s challenge.
Respect to both men for making this fight and event happen tonight.
Good fight!
I’m in for sure.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) November 15, 2020
“Respect to both men for making this fight and event happen tonight. Good fight! I’m in for sure.”
About 10 minutes later McGregor issued another tweet explaining that he still intends to fight Poirier next, but has no issues settling his beef with dos Anjos after that. Remember, the two were scheduled to meet all the way back at UFC 196, but RDA ended up injuring his foot. He was replaced by Nate Diaz and we all know what happened with that.
Dustin first, but I’m down for it all. Throwback to this classic lol.
Look at Dana hahahah

What say you, fight fans? If McGregor gets past “Diamond” do you want to see him finally square off with RDA?
