This is UFC 256 in a few short tweets.
UFC 256 is in the books and it saw several great fights, including the main event that delivered what was dubbed as the greatest flyweight fight in the promotion’s history. Deiveson Figueiredo technically defended his title, but the back and forth war with Brandon Moreno was officially ruled a draw. He was deducted a point for a particularly nasty groin shot, that had Moreno looking like he was going to throw up.
Also on the contest were impressive performances from Charles Oliveira, Kevin Holland and Ciryl Gane that will probably shoot them up the rankings and establish themselves as new contenders in their respective divisions.

GANE TKOs JDS
PROS: Gane again showed nice kicks, distance management, and was VERY mobile for a heavyweight. Gane will shoot up the rankings and could very well be the next big thing.
CONS: JDS had nothing, and was badly outclassed. Also complained about a legal strike.

HOLLAND KOs JACARE
PROS: KO! FROM THE BOTTOM! WHAT! Huge win for Holland, and his fifth in 2020. He really deserves that Chimaev marketing push, and interestingly enough, Holland called him out after.

DERN EDGES JANDIROBA
PROS: Very close fight. Third round slugfest was really fun.

#UFC256 OVERALL
PROS: Lots of good fights. New contenders, coming out parties for Oliveira, Holland, & Gane. Moreno too.
CONS: Terrible commentary. It wasn’t DC’s best night, and it was probably one of Rogan’s worst. Anik was good, but again didn’t have enough space to talk.
