Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just one week away from making its return to “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi and fans couldn’t be more excited.

The UFC will mark its return with an inaugural event on ABC on Jan. 16, which will be headlined by a featherweight bout between former UFC champion Max Holloway and streaking contender Calvin Kattar. The second event will take place on Jan. 20 smack dab in the middle of the morning and be headlined by a welterweight clash featuring veterans Michael Chiesa and Neil Magny.

Of course, the final stop on “Fight Island” this month will occur at UFC 257 live on ESPN+ PPV. That event will feature a main event rematch between former UFC double champ Conor McGregor and lightweight contender Dustin Poirier. UFC 257 will also feature Michael Chandler’s Octagon debut and a few thousand fans in attendance.

With all these fights on the horizon fans can expect some serious finishes when UFC touches down on “Fight Island” next weekend. But to really appreciate the impending carnage we need to look back on the action that spilled into “Fight Island” in 2020.

Luckily, UFC has been nice enough to put together the best “Fight Island” finishes from last year and release it just in time for next weekend. The complete package of stoppages can be seen in the above video player.

Whether it was Israel Adesanya’s destruction of rival Paul Costa, Jan Blachowicz’s title win over Dominick Reyes, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s final UFC fight, or Joaquin Buckley’s infamous knockout over Impa Kasanganay, UFC’s “Fight Island” has left a major mark since its first event last July.

Only time will tell what finishes will be produced this time around as UFC travels back-and-forth to “Fight Island” throughout the calendar year. It all starts with the three-event spectacle next weekend from inside Etihad Arena.
