medicalsuspensions8dOn Tuesday, the Vancouver Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions for the June 11, UFC 131: Dos Santos vs. Carwin event which was held at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

All fighters received a mandatory nine-day suspension, but thirteen of the nights competitors received lengthier sentences.

The event saw No. 1 heavyweight contender Junior dos Santos, who was one of the fighters to receive a nine-day rest order, earn an easy unanimous-decision victory over former interim champ Shane Carwin in the nights main event. Carwin received a 60 day suspension, with a 45 no contact during training order due to multiple facial lacerations and a nasal fracture.

The longest suspension went to prelim fighter Jason Young, who lost a unanimous decision to Dustin Poirier. The Brit received a 180 day suspension for his right foot, which may be reduced to 45 days if an x-ray proves negative.
