William Knight kept the finishes rolling in earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 21, 2021) at UFC Vegas 34 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the light heavyweight prospect disposed of Fabio Cherant with an impressive first-round knockout (punch).
Knight opened up with whipping legs kicks that spun Cherant around almost every time they landed. Cherant rebounded with some solid strikes over the top as Knight refused to move his head out of harm’s way. During an exchange in which Cherant rushed in for offense along the cage Knight threw out a short left hand counter that caught the chin and instantly put Cherant out.

Knight, 33, now pushes his Octagon record to 2-1 with this gnarly knockout finish. He was coming off a loss to Da Un Jung in which he struggled with his striking defense so it’s nice to see him turn things around on the feet. God only knows what would have happened if Knight landed a full punch instead of this short counter shot.
