Steve Garcia avoided multiple knockdown scares to finish lightweight counterpart Charlie Ontiveros earlier today (Sat., Oct. 9, 2021) at UFC Vegas 39 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, as “Mean Machine” captured a bloody second-round TKO (punches).
Ontiveros was dropping down from middleweight and his power really shined early as he clipped Garcia multiple times. Luckily for Garcia, he was able to utilize his wrestling to regain momentum and break Ontiveros down with heavy ground-and-pound. Garcia finished his efforts in the second round from full mount with a barrage of punches that forced the referee to step in and save a bloodied Ontiveros.
