“Verbal agreements are in for a fight that promises non-stop action as Kyle Kingsbury will take on the ‘American Psycho’ Stephan Bonnar at UFC 139,” said UFC president Dana White today.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon via UFC.com for the upcoming November event in San Jose.
UFC 139: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos is scheduled to take place on November 19 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. The event marks the first time the UFC has visited the home of former rival Strikeforce.
Stephan ‘The American Psycho’ Bonnar (13-7) has won his last two fights, bouncing back from a three fight losing skid. Bonnar had been scheduled to face Karlos Vemola earlier this month at UFC on Versus 5, but was forced to withdraw due to injury. ‘The American Psycho’ was last in the Octagon in December of last year at the TUF 12 Finale, earning a unanimous decision over Igor Pokrajac.
Kyle ‘Kingsbu’ Kingsbury (11-2, 1NC) is currently on a four fight win streak, which saw him go on that tear after dropping his UFC debut back at the TUF 8 Finale in December 2008. ‘Kingsbu’s’ last fight was in June at the TUF 13 Finale, where he earned a decision victory over Fabio Maldonado as well as the “Fight of the Night” honor. That was his second such bonus in his last three matches.
