Undefeated German welterweight Pascal “Panzer” Krauss (10-0) has been forced out of his upcoming UFC 138 bout versus John ‘The Hitman’ Hathaway (15-1) due to injury.

According to Sherdog.com, Krauss suffered a “dislocated acromioclavicular (AC) joint in his left shoulder” which will keep him sidelined for the next six-to-eight weeks.

Krauss offered his disappointment to the website and offered some thoughts on a previous shoulder injury that kept him out for eight months previous to this current issue.

“As you can imagine I’m absolutely devastated by wrecking my shoulder again, as well as the news that I won’t be able to fight John,” Krauss told Sherdog.com on Tuesday. “I never had a serious injury in more than 10 years of competing in various combat sports. Training and competing is my passion. Having to sit out for eight months was a total nightmare and the prospect of fighting again this fall was my only silver lining on the horizon. Being on the shelf again now is just disheartening. I just hope I can make a complete recovery one more time and come back an even stronger Panzer in 2012!”

UFC 138: Leben vs. Munoz is expected to take place at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England on November 5.

Krauss made his UFC debut last November at UFC 122, earning a unanimous decision over Mark Scanlon as well as earning the “Fight of the Night” bonus. He remains undefeated in ten professional bouts with seven submission wins, two (T)KO victories, and one by decision.

Hathaway is 1-1 in his last two, and is 5-1 in the UFC overall. His last bout was in March against TUF alum Kris McCray, earning a split decision at the Seattle event. ‘The Hitman’ has fought to a decision (split or unanimous) in his last five fights.
