B.J. Penn usually receives the spotlight when it comes to fighting, but there’s a new face representing the family name in Reagan Penn, who recently made his MMA debut against Paul Gardiner on August 27.
The fight took place at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, HI, under the ProElite organization.
Reagan, who is the youngest of the three brothers, had little trouble in submitting his former training partner a little over a minute into the fight. Gardiner went into the fight with a 2-0 record.
Despite only being two years younger than B.J. at 30 years old, Reagan still has a successful career ahead of him if that’s the path he chooses to take.
B.J. and Jay Dee, who is the oldest, usually are seen on UFC’s Primetime shows while Reagan isn’t seen as much on the series. Jay Dee was also a well-established promoter with the Rumble on the Rock organization.
Reagan’s next fight could come as soon as November. B.J. is currently scheduled to face Carlos Condit at UFC 137. A win in that fight could potentially mean a title shot against UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre.
