UFC middleweight Nick ‘The Jersey Devil’ Catone (9-2) has suffered an undisclosed injury and has withdrawn from his upcoming UFC 136 bout versus Aaron ‘A-Train’ Simpson (9-2).

News of Catone’s injury was reported by MMAFighting.com after they were informed by sources close to the fighter.

UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard III is scheduled to take place on October 8 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Catone and Simpson had been scheduled to meet on the Preliminary card of the event, no official word has surfaced from the UFC as they are undoubtedly looking for a replacement with just one month left.

‘The Jersey Devil’ was last in the Octagon in March, meeting last minute replacement Constantinos Philippou in a 195 lb catchweight bout at UFC 128. Catone would earn a unanimous decision, winning two straight in the UFC after suffering losses to Mark Munoz and Tim Credeur.
