A lightweight matchup appears to be in the works for UFC 140 in December, pitting Nik ‘The Carney’ Lentz (21-3-2, 1NC) against Mark Bocek (9-4) at the upcoming Toronto event.

The Canadian Press Tweeted (@CdnPress_MMA) the notice on Sunday, with MMAjunkie.com confirming that one fighter had verbally agreed to the matchup.

UFC 140 is scheduled to take place on December 10 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario in the UFC’s second visit of the year after their record breaking attendance of 55,000 which took place at the Rogers Centre as part of UFC 129 in April.

Lentz is undefeated fourteen straight fights, having gone 12-0-2 (with 1 No Contest). ‘The Carney’ had his last fight in June against Charles Oliveira at the UFC on Versus 4 show. Lentz originally lost the bout via submission in the second round, but the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission overturned the result after determining that Oliveira used an illegal knee to the head of his opponent, all of which led to the rear-naked choke submission being implemented.

Previous to that, Lentz had been on a four fight win streak, all of which took place within a years time. Previous to those wins, Lentz fought to a majority draw.

Bocek will fight in front of his fellow Canadians, and enters the bout with a decision loss to Ben Henderson at UFC 129. That puts the lightweight at 1-2 in his last three, with a win over Dustin Hazelett at UFC 124 and a decision defeat at the hands of Jim Miller at UFC 111. Bocek’s overall record with the UFC is 5-4.
